Your Last Will and Testament

How do you want
to be remembered?

Even today, you can give the children of tomorrow a chance to live their lives to the fullest. By leaving a gift to UNICEF in your Last Will and Testament or your Life Insurance Policy, you give every Filipino child a fair chance at a better life today and for many years to come.

Leaving a gift in your Will or Life Insurance Policy is not as complicated as you might think, and the impact to future generations is tremendous. Your gift will help support UNICEF's long-term development programs and empower children long into the future.

For over 75 years, UNICEF has been ensuring that more of the world's children are vaccinated, educated, and protected. Working in more than 190 countries around the world, we work in the toughest places to reach the most disadvantaged children and adolescents, and to protect the rights of every child, everywhere. As the world's largest provider of vaccines, we support child health and nutrition, safe water and sanitation, quality education and skill building, HIV prevention and treatment for mothers and babies, and the protection of children and adolescents from violence and exploitation.

Through the help of voluntary contributions from individuals, governments, and the private sector, we have achieved important results for vulnerable children. Here are some examples of the work we do for children:

  • Ended Polio in the Philippines twice

      - First in 2020 and after the resurgence in 2021.

  • Helped reach more than 760 million children with life-saving vaccines

      - Preventing more than 13 million deaths in the last 20 years.

  • In 2022, UNICEF procured $7.383 billion in goods and services for children in 162 countries and areas

      - This procurement value included the delivery of 3.4 billion vaccines, 2.1 billion water purification tablets, 38.1 million long-lasting insecticidal mosquito nets, 162,000 education kits, and almost 69,000 metric tons of ready-to-use therapeutic food to treat severe wasting in children under 5 years old.

By leaving a Legacy Gift to UNICEF in your last will and testament or life insurance policy, you are helping not
just one child, but generations of children to come. To find our more about UNICEF's work, visit our website at

Cely

Meet Cely, UNICEF supporter since 2015—and many more years to come.

Even when she was younger, Cely has been interested in learning about Last Wills and Testaments as assurance - and knowing that her beneficiaries will receive what she is going to leave them have given her a sense of order and security. “I want to be sure that whoever my beneficiaries are won't have any problems,” she said.

In her journey, Cely learned that you can leave gift donations in your Last Will and Testament. So she started learning more about UNICEF and how it uses donors' contributions for children. She was determined to give to an organization that she was sure does the right thing. “It was important that I was made aware of UNICEF and what it does,” she said. “(UNICEF) is there for children and you can see its work.”

“Whether big or small, what matters to me is knowing that
my gift can make a difference in children's lives.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Gifts of Wills

An up-to-date will is the only way to make sure that after you pass away, your wishes are carried out. If you die without making a will, your assets will be distributed according to a predetermined criteria, and may not be to your family, friends, and the causes that you care about, as you may have intended.

It's important to take your time, because writing a will is a big decision. But once you've made your decision, it's simple. We recommend that you consult your lawyer, who can provide an estimate of the cost and help you write your will.

Your will records your wishes at a particular time. It is advisable to regularly review your will as your circumstances change, so that it accurately reflects your current wishes. If your current will still reflects most of your wishes, and you simply wish to make some additions or small changes, you can make a simple addition with a codicil.

This is entirely up to you. However, letting us know about your gift can help us plan our future work. Most importantly, we’re very keen to show our gratitude to you and keep you informed about our work with children around the world. Thank you.

Of course. All information you give to us is strictly confidential. Any information supplied to UNICEF Philippines is protected by our Privacy Policy.
Gifts of Insurance

Your insurance policy lets you manage who benefits from your life insurance and when they can do so. By listing UNICEF Philippines as your insurance policy beneficiary, you can continue your advocacy after you pass away and leave behind a better future for Filipino children.

Please contact your insurance provider on how to change or add UNICEF Philippines as a beneficiary. This process can be done at the start, when purchasing the insurance policy, or at a later date when changing or adding a beneficiary.

Yes, you can still make UNICEF Philippines an added beneficiary of your policy so UNICEF will be entitled to a partial amount in the total sum insured.

This will differ per insurance company. They would most likely need to establish the legitimacy of UNICEF Philippines, and we can provide the documents as needed.

We recommend you assign a person (family member, friend, or trusted agent) who will notify UNICEF Philippines about your legacy gift.
