Writing your Last Will and Testament can provide you an opportunity to reflect on your life and what you value, offering you the chance to think about how you would want to be remembered and the impact you want to leave on the world.
After living our lives to the fullest, it's our turn to give the children of tomorrow the chance to do the same. By leaving a gift to UNICEF in your Last Will and Testament, you give every Filipino child a fair chance at a better life.
Leaving a gift in your Last Will and Testament is not as complicated as you might think, and the impact to future generations is tremendous. Your gift will help support UNICEF's long-term development programs and empower children long into the future.
Let a better future be your legacy. By leaving a gift in your Last Will and Testament to UNICEF, you can help us save lives and build a safer, healthier, and brighter world for Filipino children.

For over 75 years, UNICEF has been ensuring that more of the world's children are vaccinated, educated, and protected. Working in more than 190 countries around the world, we work in the toughest places to reach the most disadvantaged children and adolescents to protect the rights of every child, everywhere. As the world’s largest provider of vaccines, we support child health and nutrition, safe water and sanitation, quality education and skill building, HIV prevention and treatment for mothers and babies, and the protection of children and adolescents from violence and exploitation.
Through the help of voluntary contributions from individuals, governments and the private sector, we have achieved important results for vulnerable children. Here are some examples of the work we do for children:
By leaving a Legacy Gift to UNICEF in your last will and testament, you are helping not just one child, but generations of children to come. To find out more about UNICEF’s work, visit our website https://www.unicef.org/philippines
Even when she was younger, Cely has been interested in learning about Last Wills and writing her own. She saw her Last Will and Testament as assurance—and knowing that her beneficiaries will receive what she is going to leave them has given her a sense of order and security. "I want to be sure that whoever my beneficiaries are won't have any problems," she said.
In her journey, Cely learned that you can leave gift donations in your Last Will and Testament. So she started finding out more about UNICEF and how it uses donors' contributions for children. She was determined to give to an organization that she was sure does the right thing. "It was important that I was made aware of UNICEF and what it does," she said. "(UNICEF) is there for children and you can see its work."
An up-to-date will is the only way to make sure that after you pass away, your wishes are carried out. If you die without making a will, your assets will be distributed according to a predetermined criteria, and may not be to your family, friends, and the causes that you care about, as you may have intended.
It’s important to take your time, because writing a will is a big decision. But once you’ve made your decision, it’s simple. We recommend that you consult your lawyer, who can provide an estimate of the cost and help you write your will.
You don’t have to be wealthy to remember a charity in your will—you simply need to make the decision. Whoever you are, whatever your situation, and even with a small gift, you can make an enormous and lasting difference to the lives of children.
Gifts in Wills provide UNICEF with vital funds for long-term planning and development. Leaving a legacy to a specific type of work or location might mean that we cannot fulfill your wishes if we are no longer doing that specific work or in that pecific area in the future. Keeping your gift for general purposes enables UNICEF to use it where the need is greatest at the time.
Your will records your wishes at a particular time. It is advisable to regularly review your will as your circumstances change, so that it accurately reflects your current wishes. If your current will still reflects most of your wishes, and you simply wish to make some additions or small changes, you can make a simple addition with a codicil.
This is entirely up to you. However, letting us know about your gift can help us plan our future work. Most importantly, we’re very keen to show our gratitude to you and keep you informed about our work with children around the world. Thank you.
